N856AE (cn 145748) Underway off Runway 24, with the Signature Flight Support ramp and BDL's West Cargo ramp below. The large hill in the background is Metacomet Ridge, into which an American Airlines MD-80 very nearly crashed in 1995 - coming so close that it hit trees on the top of the hill. On a more pleasant note, the New England autumn colors are in full force this beautiful October morning. This was Eagle Flight 256, BDL-ORD. |

N927AN / 3BD (cn 30077/462) American 592 from Dallas/Ft. Worth is on the downwind leg for a Runway 33 arrival at Bradley Airport. We flew unusually close to the airport on this approach, affording an overall view of the airport complex. We're flying parallel to Runway 33 prior to doing a tight 180-degree turn to final, and we're looking right down Runway 6. The terminals are in front of Runway 33 and to the right of Runway 6. |

N535US (cn 26482/693) Northwest 98 from BDL to AMS started today on a cloudy July 1st. This is the first regularly scheduled nonstop direct transatlantic passenger flight in Bradley's history. The ETOPS-marked 757 with winglets is taxiing on its way to runway 6. Thanks to John Jauchler and the rest of the BDL spotters for a great team effort on capturing this historic flight. Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D, Sigma 50-500. |

N535US (cn 26482/693) This was a big day for Bradley Airport, as Northwest's new Hartford-Amsterdam flight marks the first-ever intercontinental passenger service from the airport. Northwest 98 pushes back from Gate 5 in Terminal A on the first operation of the new flight - about five minutes early. I wish Northwest Airlines and Bradley Airport much success with the new service. |

N552TZ (cn 32586/978) You know it's raining hard when a 757 can cut a wake in the water on the tarmac! I probably destroyed my camera taking this shot, but after all a 757-300 is a pretty unusual sight at Bradley. Amtran 6184 Heavy is pulling into BDL's International Arrivals Building, carrying a load of passengers returning home from St.Maarten. |

N77080 (cn 626) There was a time when Bradley hosted a fair number of wide-body passenger flights. American's daily roundtrip to San Juan was the last such flight remaining, but unfortunately it's been switched to a 757 indefinitely. The A300 has but four days left on this route as American 1375 Heavy departs on Runway 24, about an hour late. |

N399FE (cn 48262/351) FedEx's operations at Bradley have for the past few years been operated almost exclusively by A300 and A310 aircraft, with an occasional 727 thrown in for good measure. FedEx three holers have been very rare here - until a few weeks ago. Double-daily MD-10 service has commenced into Hartford, and the pattern so far is IND-BDL-MEM in the morning and MEM-BDL-IND in the evening. Here, FedEx 657 Heavy to Memphis heads for a Runway 24 departure. |

N101HQ (cn 17000156) At first I thought it was an ERJ-170 repainted, but nope, it's a 175 fresh off the line for Republic. This plane was only certified for about a week by the FAA before it was seen here on short final to runway 33. Maxxum 5D |
