Iberia
Airbus A340-642
Quito - Mariscal Sucre (UIO / SEQU) (closed)
Ecuador, November 11, 2007
Remark
Photographer
EC-JOH (cn 731) By the looks of this, the number of people, you can understand this is not something we see every day! A very lucky incident for the passengers and people around this sector, but a very unlucky event for Iberia. Sitting here after two days from the incident. Simply a breathtaking view! Big isn't it?

OO-SCW (cn 014) This is what happens when the right main gear of a big aircraft collapses on landing, ejects backwards and takes half of the right horizontal tailplane with it, while the rest of the airplane does a 180° turn on the ground until it comes to a stop.
