Remark
Photographer
CA-01 (cn 372) Smoke billows from this Belgian Defence A310 after the aircraft developed a fire in the port engine on landing. The incident immediately saw a full response from the airport's fire section, although the fire had been extinguished prior to their arrival at the scene. After inspection, the aircraft was able to taxi using its own power under the watchful eye of a fleet of fire trucks.

Sweden, November 3, 2006
Remark
Photographer
9M-MRI (cn 28416/155) About 10 seconds after liftoff from runway 19R something happens with the left engine. Alot of smoke and fragments of metal and other material falls down on the runway. At first the pilots don't get any indications in the cockpit and plan to go on to Kuala Lumpur. Then we decide to call Arlanda duty officer to make sure that they have noticed the pieces from the engine on the runway. Shortly after that the pilots requests fueldump and return to ARN safely. I counted 8 of them, and lucky for me, at least 3 times I got the fire on the photo with the result like this. Those people inside must have been shocked really hard with all those flames and bangs! btw: I like their new paintjob! [Camera: EOS 300D Lens: Canon 90-300mm]

925 black (cn 2960715564) The moment my heart stopped! A Russian MiG-29 925 has just smashed into the ground having collided with her sister 526 during their air display at the 1993 IAT. At this point I thought the pilot was still in the plane though he had already escaped without injury. If you look carefully to the right of the photo the MiG's tail fin can be seen bouncing away from the wreckage and other flying debris is visible. A moment I will never forget.

HK-3997 (cn 391) This bird ran off Rwy. 13L last night at around 11PM. It landed after a flight from Maracaibo, and looking at the pictures it seems like the common gear colapse cases on the Dash 8 planes. 5 injured and no fatalities.

20 miles to the airport, an absorbed-in-other-things stork struck this aircraft causing what you can see here. It didn't affect navigation, so they landed smoothly. Radar was the only thing they lost. It remained unusable. Birds are not so cute as they try to appear... Waiting a new nose coming from Madrid [aircraft ID withheld on request of photographer, Ed.].

D-AHLB (cn 528) Del 01/90. On flight HF 3378 from Chania (Crete) to HAJ, wasn't able to retract its landing gear. According to latest news the aircraft ran short of fuel due to the higher consumption and therefore had to perform an emergency landing in VIE. The pilot was forced to approach Rwy 34 without engine performance! The aircraft touched the ground at 13:31 local time a few hundred meters before the runway threshold and ran through the ILS-localizer-antenna.
