G-**** Three BAW B744 established on the ILS for 27R, followed by an AAL B772 shortly to take up the ILS. A BMA A320 is bottom left coming off base to complete the picture of the classic Heathrow approach. I've witnessed this sort of thing hundreds of times and it still gives me a smile. Noteworthy to those familiar with London's geography is that the third B744 is somewhere over Fulham right about there. |

TC-JDL (cn 057) Unfortunately the 77W we had booked to fly on was subbed by this A340-300, but wow. Istanbul is a simply amazing city. Myself and fellow a.net photographer Matt Duna spent two nights here sampling the local culture and what an incredible two nights it was. Sun, sea, beer, aviation, food, culture, photography, new people and friends, definately a highlight of the past few years! Here we're on approach to Istanbul Ataturk airport after the 3.5 hour flight from LHR, taken from seat 7K, TK1980. [Canon EOS 400D] |

This photo is dedicated to the wonderful friends I've made through the hobby in the area. [Canon 40D] |

RA-96016 (cn 74393202010) A bird strike or an engine failure? Or even both? Maybe none? That is something that perhaps we might never know, nevertheless this was a one in a million moment. I was trying to get this aircraft on rotation, and suddenly (when I started to photograph) a cloud of smoke emerged and the take off was aborted. Few days later, this photo made it to the front page of a Russian newspaper, and got its 5 minutes of fame on the telly, but what I wanted that day I didn’t get. This beautiful aircraft on rotation. |

N88892 (cn 21831/440) Sorry for the quality, it was a bumpy day in the DA40... Whats up with G-BDXJ? Reg change, engine change and drop-tanks? Looks like a B-52 wing... maybe XJ is becoming an actor? Yes indeed! Badged with the fictional Hollywood registration N88892, it will be used in a James Bond film. For the Bond film, the two outer engines have been replaced with outboard wing tanks, while the inner engines have been replaced with mocked-up dual pylon-mounted engine pods under each wing near similar to those initially on the Boeing B-47 Stratojet. |

CCCP-76464 (cn 98413) The awful end of proud airliner. Absolutely stupid decision of the East-Line Group caused big public condemnation. They needed more space to build a new parking lot. First they told us that the Tu-114 will be restored. But... You can see the worker with a saw, cutting off a detail in the nose of the plane, and flowers and a memorable photo near the base of the monument, assigned by enthusiasts on the day earlier on the farewell/protesting meeting. Good-Bye, Tu-114! Heavy rain and bad weather... |

JA8081 (cn 25064/851) Taken from our Cessna at 3500ft during our shoreline transition over LAX. This was a great sight. As the 747 moved on and gained speed it required more and more acrobatics inside the cramped Cessna as it was virtually behind us at that point. |

N80FA (cn 10273/7) Working at Southend Airport in the 'Seventies produced some great opportunities. Just before N80FA departed on its ferry flight to Texas, I was able to fix up an air-to-air session from Cessna 172 G-ATLN. We flew as fast as possible, the Carvair as slow as it could with everything down. I can still hear those P&Ws roaring over the sound of my open window and the general racket in the Cessna. I even sold my car to one of the Falcon directors who duly loaded and flew home to the States with it - truly Car-via-air as Freddie Laker originally intended. This aircraft crashed in Alaska in 1997 as N103; another of the few remaining Carvairs suffered a similar fate up there in May 2007, so now only two survive. |
