9th July 2006 - FIFA World Cup™ Final 2006 in Berlin. You see a part(!) of the apron full with Bizzjets and Props. I have counted 194 jets, 50 props and 3 airliners so far. It was a spectacular and very busy day (round about 900 movements) for this historic airport in the middle of Berlin. By the way: Italy won after a penalty showdown... (Canon 20D @ 17mm) |

**-**** / 6 Practice day at Millville shows the two solo aircraft in near perfect alignment. Amazing that they thought of painting the aircraft numbers upside down on the opposite side so they'd read correctly when photographed inverted. |

RA-86140 (cn 51483211102) No more runway left = Must rotate! Look at where the 1000 ft marker sign and where the plane is! One heart-stopping takeoff! The front gear of the plane actually got up before the '1' marker but the body remains heavy. I think the pilots know exactly where to rotate. The Ilyushin also kicked up a large sandstorm on the beach and it was barely above it after finally airborne. IL86 is such a beast! [Nikon D2x, High speed crop mode] |
