57-2523 (cn 8-27-17) The F-106B was a two-seat fully combat capable trainer version of the Mach 2.3 Delta Dart and is seen here taxiing towards the end of its career with the 194th FIS. After withdrawal and a period at Andrews, it was carried as an underslung load by CH-54 Skycrane to Atlantic City IAP, NJ, where it was plinth-mounted in the colours of the local 177th FIS. It is wired up so that the external lights work at night and is one of five F-106B's displayed across the US |

KG101 (cn 683-8001) The first Starfighter built by Fokker. Which served within the German Air Force as DA+245, BF+245 and even 23+27. It has been very nicely restored and is seen here in front of the QRA shelter area. |

57-2492 (cn 8-24-75) "There's an engine in there somewhere Al!" This smart Delta Dart, then with the 84th FIS, was w/o on 20.8.97 as a QF-106A drone. Deserved better |

58-0774 (cn 8-24-105) This was the 133rd F-106 produced by Convair at San Diego in 1959 and flew with five different Fighter Interceptor Squadrons before reaching the 194th FIS at Fresno in 1974. Ten years later it went in storage at DM AFB but emerged in 1991 for conversion to a QF-106 drone, becoming Tyndall-based. It returned to DM in 1998 but was selected for preservation in the Aerospace Museum at Hill AFB, UT, where it has undergone a superb restoration for display in the marks of its first unit, the 456th FIS (Castle) |
