***** At the National Museum of Aviation. Single seater jet fighter designed and built in Argentina. It was the first aircraft of this kind constructed within South America. Designed by the French engineer Emil Dewotime and powered by a Rolls Royce Derwent 5 turbojet engine, it made its maiden flight on 09. August 1947 piloted by First Lieutenant Edmundo Weiss. Due to not meeting expected performance, the IAE27, or better know Pulqui I project, was soon cancelled. |
