Cathay Pacific Airways
Boeing 747-467
Los Angeles - International (LAX / KLAX)
USA - California, November 19, 2005
Remark
Photographer
B-HOR (cn 24631/771) Double treat: I have seen many F16s, F15s do side by side landing but this was unusual. MX A320 descended on glideslope from 3500 AGL for Rwy 24R while CX 744 did same from 2200 AGL for Left side. Cathay 744 was told to hold 170 kts steady so MX can land just a bit ahead. And the result was perfect approach with spectacular results.

All Nippon Airways - ANA
Boeing 747-481
New York - John F. Kennedy International (Idlewild) (JFK / KJFK)
USA - New York, September 13, 2003
Remark
Photographer
JA8097 (cn 25135/863) Heavy B747-400 is turning into RWY 4L back to the long way home to Tokyo Narita as NH009. Delta 757 is the second departure. Although we did not have a clear blue sky on that day, the threshold point was spotlighted, which gave us an interesting effect. Three men on the boat have just given up fishing, and were watching the Jumbo Jet as if the leading actress appears on the stage. Due to the heavy fuel, wings seem to be bent. A black dot locates right above 747 is not the dust/scratch but the flying bird.

Atlas Air
Boeing 747-230B(SF)
Anchorage - Ted Stevens International (ANC / PANC)
USA - Alaska, November 12, 2005
Remark
Photographer
N512MC (cn 21220/294) Ah, the moon! Atlas Air B747 has just arrived at the designated parking space, and seems to start enjoying the moon rise while refueling. Southern Air B.747 (N746SA) parks behind. Setting sun illuminates the peaks of mountains beautifully whereas the ground does not completely turn dark which is usually the case of snow. I wish you could smell the holy atmosphere that I felt at the moment. In a reality, I think it might be a good idea to take my way back now before the road will completely freeze again.

Northwest Airlines Cargo
Boeing 747-222B(SF)
Anchorage - Ted Stevens International (ANC / PANC)
USA - Alaska, November 12, 2005
Remark
Photographer
N645NW (cn 23736/673) Is majestically turn and taxi for runway 32 departure at Anchorage International. Low afternoon sun illuminates the characteristic shape of this 747 beautifully. Amazingly, Everts Air Cargo C-118A is following with her four 2400hp roaring P&W R-2800-CB16 engines running. This type of combination would only be achieved in Alaska. If you really like a heavy metal and would like to smell jet fuel and/or engine oil, this might be the place to be. Snowy mountains behind always give us a nice backdrop.

Amsterdam - Schiphol (AMS / EHAM)
Netherlands, August 25, 2008
Remark
Photographer
PH-BFG / FG-003 (cn 24517/782) During the welcome ceromony of the Dutch Olympic team, the fire brigade sprayed the aircraft. You can clearly see the rainbow in front of the wing and the huge water/vapour output of engine number 3 and 4.

Enroute SYD-BKK as BA010. The sun is just setting over western Queensland, not too far away from the Simpson Desert. The clouds are nicely filtering the sunlight.

United Airlines
Boeing 757-222
San Francisco - International (SFO / KSFO)
USA - California, August 15, 2004
Remark
Photographer
N509UA (cn 24763/284) With LH 744 D-ABVE. The two planes appear to be touching! The 757 is on final for 28L while the 747 is for 28R. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side.
