American Airlines
Boeing 767-323/ER
Dallas / Fort Worth - International (DFW / KDFW)
USA - Texas, July 16, 2008
Remark
Photographer
N360AA (cn 24041/232) This arrival from LAX flared and flared and flared, finally putting down halfway down the runway. It created the heaviest smoke cloud of any landing I've ever seen, totally stinking up the west side of the airport.

USA - California, August 5, 2008
Remark
Photographer
A6-EDA (cn 011) "Emirates 7223 Super" seen about to land on Runway 25L after an emergency landing of an AA 757-200 caused it to enter a holding pattern over the Pacific for approximately 30 minutes. An aircraft emergency and a visit by one of the world's largest passenger planes made it an eventful day for us here in Los Angeles! [Canon 40D]

American Airlines
Boeing 767-323/ER
Manchester - International (Ringway) (MAN / EGCC)
UK - England, February 23, 2008
Remark
Photographer
N386AA (cn 27060/540) An emergency landing due to hydraulic failure. The gear doors are stuck down and the fast landing coupled with no nosewheel steering meant the runway was blocked for some time. The aircraft stopped safely but had very hot brakes and a couple of burst tyres.

Remark
Photographer
N524VA (cn 3204) Qantas 747-400 (VH-OEI) is seen going around, climbing past us in the A319. We were performing a parallel ("side-by") approach to Runway 28 in San Francisco (SFO) when apparently the heavy couldn't stay behind us and had to go around. It was the most spectacular thing I have ever seen from inside an airplane!
