XN576 / 79 I took this 41 years ago (aged 11) with a Kodak Instamatic. The Jet Provost (delivered 16 March 61) from the Central Flying School at nearby RAF Little Rissington had suffered an engine problem and its crew, Flt Lt Francis and Flt Lt Foster, had ejected near Northleach. The aircraft had subsequently flown on about five miles and had made a relatively gentle landing in a stubble field between Aldsworth and Coln-St-Aldwyns. (The smoke in the sky is from burning stubble and nothing to do with the crash.) |
