Bora Bora! I'm quite happy to have landed there as pilot in command of my rental aircraft. Picture was taken on the 150 nautical miles return leg Bora Bora - Tahiti, after a short sightseeing trip to Tupuai. 25 km in the distance, Tahaa island can be seen. During WWII, the USA built a military base here. The airfield, now 1500 meters long, is was is left of it. |

JA8231 (cn 23212/117) Is approaching to perform another set of touch-and-go training sessions. Usually, as airliners send the aircraft for training just before heavy maintenance, airplanes observed here are somehow 'in need of a wash.’ But, JAL sent this B767 when she was freshly repainted. Thank you JAL for allowing me to shoot this perfect coral reflection under the belly! The 'Portrait’ view might interest you as well. At that moment, JAL B767/B777 and ANA B767/B777 were on the training which had kept me busy all the time. |

JA8231 (cn 23212/117) Is approaching runway 17 to perform another set of touch-and-go training sessions. Beautiful clouds remind us a heavy thunder shower which we have just got through at the end of the rainy season; however, it gives us an amazing sight in the tropical island. The green color of the belly comes from the coral reefs surrounding north shore of the island/airport. At that moment, JAL B767/B777 and ANA B767/B777 were on the training which had kept me busy all the time! |

N140UA / 8540 (cn 21022/265) This is the oldest SP Jumbo Jet, first flight July 4, 1975 as N747SP. Delivered to Pan Am as N530PA in April 1976 and bought by United Airlines in 1986. Wfu and scrapped during the mid 1990s. Seen here taxiing to RW 36L for departure. Note, that back in those days the taxiways at Beijing were also used as bicycle tracks. No doubt who had the right of way. |

JA8985 (cn 27652/72) Approaching to perform another set of touch and go during the training flight. We had just passed through the rainy season, which gave us an incredible view of the coral reflection. Those clouds were also affected by the coral reflection. Isn't that amazing? Today, the more flight simulator has been introduced, the more difficult to find a training flight under that perfect scenery. I will be appreciated if you use this photo for your desktop. |

Check out the simultaneous departures from 1L and 1R! As we climb through 10,000 feet a full view of SFO can be seen. Along with the departures, there is a United 747-400 turning off 28R, and there are about 65 large aricraft on the ground. Multiple heavies can be seen at the gates. This was taken from a Southwest 737-700 on departure from OAK on the way to LAX. |
