N70529 (cn 49921/1752) Ship 529 waits for the ramp to reopen after the lightening subsides. This was a spectacular storm and I only went out to shoot pictures after about 30 minutes of nearly continuous lightening. Really a treat to watch, but not very conducive to a smooth operation. If anyone wonders why the ramp closes when lightening is in the area this should be explanation enough. This strike was just outside the perimeter fence but this storm produced hundreds of strikes within the fence, according to the detector equip.

D-AIGY (cn 335) What a beautiful approach to JFK. As usual there were hundreds of aircrafts around the airport. This evening we had a visual approach, no centerline lights and too many aircrafts ahead of us in the final... Separation and separation are still two different things. ;-)

HB-JMH (cn 585) Awesome crosswind landing going on here - nonstop from Tokyo - in front of an amazing scenery! There seems to be no way this plane is ever gona stop on this short little runway...runway 14 is 3.3km long of course. It had rained all night what resulted in superb visibility: The mountains in the back are 50km and futher away! I was standing about 2km from the point of touchdown...considering that it came out quite good. A big thanks again goes out to Paul Markman for the editing!

ZS-OSI (cn 46098/516) A heavy shower passed through the field and a very lucky break in the clouds after it shows off the big water spray effect as this classic aircraft departs from Runway 31 (400mm shot). It was testing new cockpit equipment before heading back to Manston.
