Scandinavian Airlines - SAS
McDonnell Douglas MD-82 (DC-9-82)
Milan - Linate (LIN / LIML)
Italy, January 22, 2012
Remark
Photographer
OY-KGT (cn 49380/1225) This is one of the pictures I like most... the atmosphere is just perfect, thanks to a magic dusk, and the background is nice too, with an aircraft's trail and the city skyline in the background!

SE-RDP (cn 2410) Lining up on 02 as LN-RMO of SAS vacates after landing and backtracking. This photo displays the massive load the nosewheel takes on a 180 degree turn. Tire looks almost flat. [Canon 300D]

F-PNIV (cn 494) What a view ! Accelerating on skis in the slopiest part (11%) of the very short runway of 406 m length. After take-off, immediate right turn to clear the centre line, as approaches are made in the opposite direction !

Nordic Leisure
McDonnell Douglas MD-81 (DC-9-81)
Stockholm - Arlanda (ARN / ESSA)
Sweden, February 27, 2006
Remark
Photographer
SE-DMT (cn 48003/944) This is the worlds oldest still flying MD-81 (DC-9-81). The two aircrafts with serial numbers 48001 and 48002 are no longer in service. It began its career 26/10/1980 with Swissair as HB-IND, then on to SAS in 1997 with registration SE-DMT. Between 2000 and 2002 Icelandic MD Airlines (TF-MDA) was the operator. After that it was Nordic Airlink and the rest is history.

SE-DMT (cn 48003/944) Easily the coolest take-off of the whole day, rotated a bit, then flew almost level low over the runway for a while before pulling up more at the end, stunning moves from this old lady!

Copa Airlines
Boeing 737-7V3
Philipsburg / St. Maarten - Princess Juliana (SXM / TNCM)
St. Maarten, December 13, 2011
Remark
Photographer
HP-1376CMP (cn 30497/574) [Canon 1D Mark III + Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L] Copa was responsible for 2 very memorable moments during my trip to St. Maarten. This 737-700 hovered at around 50 feet to the end of the runway before blasting upwards over Maho Beach. In this photo, you can see the landing gear is almost completely stowed very low to the ground, and the runway piano keys are reflecting off the belly of the aircraft.

Germany, June 1, 1991
Remark
Photographer
OY-KHO (cn 53003/1844) Crashed six months later on December 27, 1991, after takeoff from Stockholm when both engines surged due to icing problems. The pilot was able to bring down the aircraft in a field where it broke up in three parts. Luckily there were no fatalities.
