VT-AIM (cn 25074/862) An unusual event occurred on this date. Just one day after Fall arrived we had a sizable amount of rainfall in Southern California. What you see here is the remnants of the storm which had moved off to the east leaving the blue skies dotted with beautiful white clouds. Above AI-137 is on short final for 24R, with ship VT-AIM making this trip. It seems that -AIM can call LAX her second home as she appears to be exclusively on this route. |

I had been planning this trip to LAX for a week now hoping to shoot the new AI777, and everything was coming together perfectly. I got up early that day and checked the AI website for flight 137's arrival time, now set for 5:37P. As I waited to hear flight 137 come on frequency there was great anticipation about getting a good shot. But fate was on my side. So here she is, 200ft above the small park on short final for 24R. |

Local time is now 16:07 as this Air India 74 streaks past the In N Out on short final for 24R, with just a hint of condensation streaming off the trailing edge flaps. I also love the combination of reds, from the AI color scheme to the In N Out Burger building. Oh yes, let's don't forget natures contribution too, those beautiful flowers at the top of the tree. |

I had planned to meet Wietse de Graaf and Miguel Snoep at the In N Out between 4:30 and 5P on that day. But the weather turned out so nice I decided to head down early and get some shots before hand. While there a fellow spotter friend of mine showed up to have a quick bite to eat. After shooting the breeze for awhile he invited me to come along with him and shoot this AI 74 that would be landing at about 4P. What a day! |

While running to get this shot I hit my little toe really hard on the walkway curb in the lower left hand corner of this shot. ( I was wearing flip flops at the time, feet exposed) A huge wave of pain gripped me, nevertheless I made it over in time to get this palm tree framed shot. The next day the whole toe was black and blue and stayed that way for some time. Yes, a shot I will never forget! |
