N93105 / 17105 (cn 19671/21) "Star Stream" colors looked great on their 747's. TWA 760 heavy is rolling runway 24L to LHR. First flight was February 23, 1970. Delivery date was March 9, 1970. Stored at MCI during September 1991. Broken-up during January 2000. I had the honor of flying on her as TWA 760 heavy LAX-LHR on July 27, 1987. |

N53111 / 17111 (cn 19677/73) Old slide improved as much as possible - A weather diversion from LHR into a SNN unprepared for jumbos at the time (no airbridges) with another sister ship in the background - these two alone must have almost swamped this airport's facilities that day! |

N***** Some early 747s used vertical 'tapes' in lieu of steam gauges; in this case EPR, N1, EGT, N2, and Fuel Flow. Back then INS was considered a new 'hi-tech' novelty, as opposed to more recent three-ring LASER Gyros and GPS. |
