St. Maarten's Princess Juliana as seen from the facing mountain. The whole reason departing aircraft make a quick turn to the right or left. It's interesting to watch the departures from here. From the airport area it looks as if the planes go closer to the mountain than it appears from here. Still a challenge at times I'm sure. |

The exclusive and exotic Brampton Island, found in the southern part of the Whitsunday Islands. Its Runway 14/32 is 750m in length and is an interesting approach from both directions! Taken on downwind for Runway 14, on a very windy day! (150/35kts). Note the resort pool on the beach. [canon 10-22mm] |

Male International airport (center left) was built on an artifical island. Due to the booming tourism industry the Maldives and its infrastructure are running out of space. Here you can see the new artifical island that supports the growing airport as well as Male itself, the world's smallest capital, visible in the top left corner of the image. Shot from aboard LTU D-ALPF bound for Frankfurt. [1600 pixels, Sony DSC-F717]. |

N586HA (cn 24259/268) Climbing out from the Reef Runway, we were greeted with a spectacular view of downtown Honolulu and the major portions of the city. Several notable landmarks include Sand Island, Chinatown, Aloha Tower, the State Capitol, Punchbowl Crater, Ward Center, Ala Moana Shopping Center, and of course my house. The Ko'olau mountain range stands tall in the distance on yet another beautiful day in paradise. Enroute from HNL-PHX on HA36. |
