F-GSPE (cn 29006/189) Air France 777's never land in Russia. The only chance to see them is cruising altitude. AF117 PVG-CDG cruising at 10600m. Lack of contrail makes the process of catching an airplane into the viewfinder a bit tricky but also gives an effect that the plane is cut from a piece of white paper. Well, not perfectly white... Taken from ground with 1200mm/f5.9 telescope. |

D-AIGR (cn 274) Flight LH719 ICN-MUC at 10600m. Taken through 1200mm/f5.9 telescope. When I was a little boy A340's didn't have regular service to any Russian airports. I could see them only at cruising altitudes. At that time I dreamt to see this beautiful airplane closer than 10000m away. Now after many years and many encounters with A340 at different airports of the world I found a way to bring cruising airplanes closer. |

EC-*** This picture was taken from easyJet 737 G-EZJX en route Faro-Luton and shows an Iberia A340 westbound over north-central Spain about to cross below us at about 1550hrs, about 45 minutes into our flight. The 737 windows were in a bit of a state and the autofocus lost lock-on a few seconds later – I shall use a manual infinity setting next time. I don’t fly much and have always wanted to be in a position to take a picture like this. (400D & stabilized Canon 28-135 @135, 1000th sec) |

N524VA (cn 3204) Qantas 747-400 (VH-OEI) is seen going around, climbing past us in the A319. We were performing a parallel ("side-by") approach to Runway 28 in San Francisco (SFO) when apparently the heavy couldn't stay behind us and had to go around. It was the most spectacular thing I have ever seen from inside an airplane! |
