OV-103 (cn OV-103) Launch Complex 39B in all her glory with "Discovery" sitting on the night before her launch. This is the last time an orbiter will launch from here. NASA deactivated LC-39B on January 1, 2007, thus making the night time launch of STS-116, which occurred on December 9, 2006 the last regularly scheduled mission. The "stack" is sitting on a mobile launch platform (MLP). To get an idea of the size of the complex structure look for the workers on it. |

OV-105 (cn OV-105) "Endeavour" on STS-118 Mission to the ISS. The roll maneuver starts with the orbiter beginning a combined roll, pitch and yaw maneuver that positions the head down, with wings level & aligned with the launch pad. She flies upside down in ascent phase. This orientation, together with trajectory shaping, establishes a trim angle of attack favorable for aerodynamic load & pilot ground reference. 3 cardboard covers of the RSS nozzles are falling off now and about to be burned.[Canon 1Ds MkII;600mm IS L;2X] |

OV-103 (cn OV-103) At dusk, a strange looking convoy leaves the KSC Shuttle Landing strip and heads towards the heart of KSC at a crawl. A tractor tow vehicle pulls Discovery along a two mile tow-way from the SLF to the Orbiter Processing Facility (OPF), a structure similar in design to a sophisticated aircraft hangar, where processing Discovery for another flight begins. Note the texture of the orbiter's surface in the unusual green lighting of the convoy. A few hours ago, she was on fire and plunging to Earth. |

OV-103 (cn OV-103) "Discovery" launches on STS-124 for a 13 days, 18 hrs, 13 minutes 7 seconds duration mission spanning 5,735,643 miles. Here she is halfway through the roll manuever which flips the orbiter on her back for the ride into Space. This reduces stress and allows the pilots a ground reference because they can see the Earth hence easier in case of an abort. The cargo today is the Japanese module Kibo & Remote Manipulator System. |

OV-104 (cn OV-104) "Atlantis" rolls back to the VAB after the mission to the Hubble Space Telescope was scrubbed. The servicing mission was planned for 14 October 2008. However on 27 September 2008, the Science Instrument Command and Data Handling (SIC&DH) Unit aboard the HST failed shutting down data transmission. The new mission is planned for sometime in 2009 based upon the successful satisfaction of all the rules that govern launch schedules. The security vehicles in the foreground give an idea of the size of the behemoth. |

FA-126 (cn 6H-126) Some kind of an artistic photo, the light, scenery and the luck of catching the taillight of the viper. Turing left and refueling, looks difficult. |

N787BA (cn 40690/1) Hectic and busy as it was, all that stress just flew away into the Snohomish air after those doors opened up to reveal the Dreamliner fresh at its best. The Trent 1000's with their 9'wide wavy fans will be one of many features to prove its effectiveness in reducing carbon footprint on our planet. Currently shes in the hangar undergoing systems installation and won't come out until the first ground tests begins. |
