9M-MRI (cn 28416/155) About 10 seconds after liftoff from runway 19R something happens with the left engine. Alot of smoke and fragments of metal and other material falls down on the runway. At first the pilots don't get any indications in the cockpit and plan to go on to Kuala Lumpur. Then we decide to call Arlanda duty officer to make sure that they have noticed the pieces from the engine on the runway. Shortly after that the pilots requests fueldump and return to ARN safely. G-EZEK (cn 2224) LOW and SLOW - viva la visual west approach!!! "Easy 8951" made its trip towards Innsbruck once again an unbelievable literally one!!! She came in lower and slower than usual, as she was cleared to minimum approach speed due to some small VFR traffic in the area. I captured her now right approximately 6nm west of the airport on finals for runway08, doing the famous visual west approach through the valley inbound from Kempten KPT) VOR. In the background the ski area "Rangger Köpfl", elevated at around 6500 feet (1939m) with skiers and their tracks is clearly visible. A happy new year 2009 to all! :) |
