Photo ID: 1633804 Views: 13489 Aircraft Location & Date British Airways Boeing 747-136 London - Heathrow (LHR / EGLL) UK - England, November 16, 1974 Remark Photographer G-AWN* This was taken from one of the Heathrow viewing terraces in 1974, the year that British Airways was inaugurated from the amalgamation of BEA and BOAC. Most of the joint fleet’s respective colour schemes were retained initially (as with this BOAC 747), with only the titles replaced with the new BA typeface, which was the subject of debate because of the diminutive 'a’ in 'airways’.
