A glorious first day of spring over Hunt Field Airfield (YHTF). The airfield is near the southern coast of Adelaide, South Australia and lies next to the Onkaparinga River. The surrounding zone is currently being eaten up by the urban sprawl, for better, for worse. This image was taken from VH-DHU, a De Havilland Chipmunk owned and operated by Nova Systems' CEO, Jim Whalley. Thanks to Jim for the flight over the area on the day. |

N9815M (cn U20604572) On final approach to runway 19. Look closely and you can see what kind of wild approach is required for this notorious 1800ft airstrip. The approach to 19 is flown over the main road in town and then the landing is accomplished while in the turn! And as you can see, the approach to runway 1 needs a sharp left bank to miss the mountain on the other end. All in all, good fun! |

OV-104 (cn OV-104) The two most flown orbiters meet for the final time. "Atlantis" is lined up to enter OPF#01 to finish her transition and retirement. "Discovery" is done and has just vacated OPF#01 and will soon depart KSC for the last time. The two orbiters paused nose-to-nose for one final good bye. Here Discovery heads to the VAB for storage till her ferry flight. This is the closest the two orbiters have ever been to each other. |
