VT-ESM (cn 27078/987) A Bad day for Air India! Timely information provided by vigilant passengers onboard "KONARK" bound for Riyadh today at 10.30am averted what would have been a sure disaster! Apparently, a fuel leak from the wings onto the engines provoked sparks and fire from engine1 (extreme right). Luckily, the fire was doused in the nick of time. All 213 passengers were evacuated through emergency exit chutes of the 744 which was brought to a halt on A3. Notice the charred engine 1 cowling and the wing leading edge. |

8Q-MAP (cn 571) It is time to prepare the next flight, and the ground company worker gets to know the status of the flight arrangements. The element of the flight crew starts to give a fresh water bath to remove the salt from the Otter. Minutes later the Cpt. would arrive as well as the passengers and the cute Twin Otter would once again cruise the sky heading to an holiday resort. It is very interesting to photograph here, but if you're going there remember that aviation photography isn't common, so you have to be discreet and fast. |

VH-URU (cn BB-1150) After departure, the wheels didn't fully retract, so the aircraft then made an emergency landing on Rwy30. Aircraft landed with the gear up and all passengers and crew evacuated after the aircraft came to a stop. Good work to all involved. Thousands witnessed the incident as the Qantas A380 was about 45 minutes from arriving in Adelaide for the first time. |
