EW-275TI (cn 00347210) One of the coolest inflight experience I ever had. We were asked to go to the front section of the An-12. I wondered why. One minute later I got the answer. While a mechanical warning clock rang, the rear cargo door opened inflight, as if the crew was about to drop some goods. But this was just an exclusiv onboard entertainment:-) The door was open for about 5 minutes, an through it we could see the dark trail of smoke this freighter created! |

A97-177 is shown (in bare metal) at the 1967 RAAF Laverton Air Display, sidelined after a Port MLG tyre deflated. The smoke at rear was from a demo napalm drop by a Vampire. (See MyAviation.net) |

N***** When flying out to Las Vegas on sunday I saw some of the wildfires start up. When returning 4 days later they had wrecked havoc among many communities. This fire burns near San Bernardino, the smokeplume must be several thousand feet high. The smoke has blocked out the entire landscape for as far as the eye can see. It gives a raw sense of the destructive power of nature. |

OV-104 (cn OV-104) Space Shuttle Atlantis is a small tip on the trailing column of fire and smoke after launching on its journey to the International Space Station on mission STS-117. Liftoff from Launch Pad 39A was on-time at 7:38:04 pm (EDT). Wide angle view allows you to spot the famous countdown clock at the bottom of the frame. This is where we called a 'Press Site' being located 3.2 miles from the Pad 39A - the closest point as far as the civilians are allowed to go (except those remote control cameras). |

The Egyptian Helwan (also Haluan or Heluan) HA-300 lightweight jet fighter is an exotic and enigmatic aircraft. The development actually started in 1952 in Spain, based on late WW2 developments undertaken in Oberammergau. With declining Spanish interest, Messerschmitt must have been quite happy when Egypt signed a contract in 1959 to continue the development of this fighter. |

145568 / 201 This F8U-2 was parked at NAS Dallas and I photographed it as the sun was going down, kissing the horizon. As a 16 year old in 1960 I did not know this was called the golden hour in photography. Looking back now I see what a great opportunity I had to take photos of operational Navy planes in great lighting conditions and I wish I had shot more film and had something other than my $16.00 point and shoot camera. Brownie Starflex with fixed lens. |

OH-ALL (cn 5494) Finnair photo. Uploaded with permission. This is one of several photos received from Finnair. They were disposing of old photos and I was asked if I want them.Otherwise they would go to the waste bin. How could I turn down an offer like that? I was also told that that I could publish them as long as it was mentioned that they originate from Finnair |

**-**** Taken by my Great Uncle during World War Two. This was taken from a gunners position on top of the aircraft. This photo was taken while on a bombing run over Germany. I have come to find out that there are not many photos left of this squadron and that not many were taken. Sadly my Great Uncle has passed away and his wife and his brother gave me permission to share this photo with A. net. |

147734 (cn 12498) This is a photo of Skyhawk 147734 flown by Lt. J.G. Woody Grover at NAS Dallas. I was 16 years old at the time and wanted to be a pilot but had very bad self-esteem and felt that was beyond my reach. Lt. Grover visited with me and said he was the same way when he was my age and said that I could do it. He was right; Woody this photo is for you where ever you are. Brownie Starflex Camera |
