A6-EDF (cn 007) What a beautiful evening it was! As the giant whale comes into light at a cloudy 'Row, shiny silver sections start glowing in the sun as it glides in on very final approach to runway 27L. Even from this tilted angle the GP7000 engines look still tremendously huge that carry the sleek heavy metal all around safely. It is said this type of engine produces less than 75g of carbon dioxyide emission per passenger and kilometer - almost half of the European target for cars manufactured in 2008. |

PH-XRY (cn 33463/1292) FEB 25th was just one of THESE picture-perfect days that are so very rare around here. We received a ton of fresh, powdery snow during the night and the cloud cover was torn open the following morning, allowing Transavia 6833 from Rotterdam to land instead of diverting to Munich. Here the flight is seen on the apron by its own, framed by the jaw-dropping, snow-covered mountain range in the background. I have never encountered the same conditions anymore in the past two years. |

D-ABTB (cn 24286/749) Deliverd in December of 1989, "Brandenburg" is one of the oldest B747-400's in active service as she's about to enter her 22nd year of revenue service with Lufthansa. Despite their age, and the fact that more A380's are coming online, the Queen is earning her keep with LH as she still plays a major roll as the backbone of the long haul fleet with no less then 29 active frames. I can't wait for the arrival of the new B747-8 which means will see the LH colours on the Jumbos for at least 20 more years or so |

N588NW / 5808 (cn 32988/1024) I have observed many crosswind arrivals in LAS, some a bit hairy but none quite like this one. Flight 1850 flailing wildly on approach from MSP had to abandon the effort after several steep side to side swings and and a strong upward surge. The second approach was not much better but at least successful. It is not too often I become concerned for my own personal safety while spotting! Funny just after this the DE heavy turned out the approach and was seen circling east over the valley to take the 19's instead. |

It trails behind by a distance twice the length of aircraft. Traffic is managed till cloud of dust vanish which takes around three to four minutes in light wind. No worries about safety. |
