SP-FDO (cn 10503) Carried DHL packages from Helsinki to Tallinn. Performed 2 landing attempts because of the landing gear malfunction and made an emergency landing on the frozen Ulemiste lake next to Tallinn airport after second attempt due to the left engine failure. According to authorities no one of the crew of 6 was injured in the incident. |

UR-*** (cn 0101) Really rare photo and actually the first one in the A.net database: An-70 first prototype at the phase of ground testing approximately one month before its maiden flight (took place 16-Dec-1994). Unfortunately this unique aircraft was tragically lost with its crew on 10 February 1995 during 4th test flight in a midair collision with An-72 chase-plane. This shot is my own tribute to the test pilots and flight engineers I personally met with and who were lost at that fatal accident in February 1995... |

CCCP-680125 (cn 19530501001) 'Chaos and creation in the backyard': the 1st prototype of Ruslan (maiden flight 24/12/1982) is still waiting for the restoration as a probable exhibit of State Aviation Museum. Now this is the only named machine with the slavonic sign 'Ruslan'. It's also maybe interesting to see clearly visible initial livery which was painted over soon (yet before roll-out) by traditional Aeroflot colours and which was never seen by public earlier. |
