F-GLZO (cn 246) AF332, our daily visitor from Paris CDG, is moments from touch down on Logan's runway 27 on a clear winter evening. I love the color graduation in the sky! [Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/2.8G ED VR II lens] |

A7-BAQ (cn 38247/910) An incredible view as this B773ER is about to reach gate 52 and complete its long journey from Doha as QR 927. Look at how the huge GE90-115B are sucking up the snow! The conditions were courtesy of the huge winter storm that shut down the northeast for two days. [Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens] |

C-FEJY / 379 (cn 17000097) AC367 from BOS to YYZ. We are over lake Ontario, shortly after crossing into Canadian air space. Throughout the flight there was quite a lot of weather and heavy cloud cover (both above and below the plane!). But, it took only a small gap in the clouds for the rays of the sun to shine through and give us this breathtaking view. Thanks to Dan for the advice on editing. EI-ELA (cn 1106) Very busy picture! "St Patrick", as EI 137 from DUB, is about to touch down on Logan's runway 27 while a JetBlue A320 is taking off from runway 22R. At the bottom of the picture a Delta MD-90 (N932DN) is being attended to by emergency crews after aborting its take-off run on runway 33L due to a locked up brake. N968DL (cn 53161/1808) DL 1859 to DTW is taking off from Logan's runway 9 on a gloomy, foggy evening. Periodic snow and rain showers resulted in a high degree of condensation which turned the lights of all the planes into light beams. The position of the wing and the lights on the MD-88 almost make it look like an X-Wing firing its lasers! Crazy day. Never seen anything like that before. CS-TKM (cn 661) SATA A310 overflying Coughlin Park on its approach to Logan's runway 27. You can see Boston's skyline in the distance (Logan's tower is just about visible!). The clouds during the sunset that evening were incredible! [Canon EOS 400D, EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens] |

D-AIDQ (cn 5028) LH920 from FRA to LHR, seat 29F. This is the classic approach into Heathrow from the east. Our early evening arrival (and the fact that it was not as overcast as usual!) provided us with gorgeous views of Canary Wharf and the surrounding area. G-CIVG (cn 25813/1059) The Queen of the Skies is starting to retract her gear after a majestic early evening take-off from Logan's runway 9 on her way to Heathrow as BA212. The famous Boston skyline provides a beautiful backdrop to the shot. I just can't get enough of this view! [Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR lens] |

60-0024 (cn 464389) Bradley Space & Aviation Day 2010. This was one of four B-52s converted to the 'Giant Fish' atmospheric sampling program (the other three being 033, 051, and 052). However, 024 only served in this capacity very briefly. Getting on board was an amazing experience and it was cool to see such an old-fashioned analogue cockpit. Many thanks to the very friendly crew for the opportunity! [Canon EOS 40D, EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM lens, Speedlite 580EX II flash] |

D-AISU (cn 4016) LH804 from FRA to ARN on "Nördlingen", seat 29A. Beautiful view of the city of Stockholm after the sunset. Viewers familiar with Stockholm will recognize Södermalm ("South Of Stockholm", the island on the left), the area around the Central station (the concentrated lights on the right), and Gamla Stan (the "Old City", the small island in-between them). I tried a few times to take this shot, finally the stars aligned that day and the sky was crystal clear. [Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens] |

I took the shot while standing on the short staircase to the crew rest. There's one more similar crew rest behind me and also a 2-person crew rest for the pilots at the front of the plane. D-AIQN (cn 269) LH855 from HEL to FRA on "Laupheim", seat 22F. Classic early morning approach towards FRA from the east but with two twists! First, we're closer to the city due to the location of the new runway (25R). Second, it's not every day you see the famous Frankfurt skyline peeking through low fog. Laupheim had celebrated the 20th anniversary of its first flight less than a month before. [Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR lens] |
