N1063T (cn 45777/80) Final Departure, Flight 553. On my very first road trip to photograph airliners I spent the day at PIT. Driving home that evening I heard on the radio that a TWA flight from PIT had a mid-air collision with a Beechcraft over Ohio. This is THAT FLIGHT, Flt 553, about to leave the gate at PIT. The aircraft was less than two months old, and I've never seen another photo of it. |

PH-MCS / CS-503 (cn 48618/584) Just when I thought I had seen everything when it comes to condensation in July last year on a KLM MD-11, this Martinair MD-11 comes along and made me rethink what I knew. The vortices on this thing are way beyond and are the very best the MD-11 can produce! Strangely enough the other MD-11s that morning didn't produce nearly as much. |

F-GSPJ (cn 29009/263) Air France shows the power of 2 GE90's at takeoff thrust. Each engine sucks in an amazing 33,000 cubic feet of air per second while outputting 94,000 pounds of thrust. The moist air does not stand a chance. As the pressure drops, the air condenses and becomes fog which is seen clearly in each engine. |
