G-EUUB (cn 1689) Lots of London's sights visible in this picture as we are descending into Heathrow's runway 27L on a misty morning - including "The Shard" which is the tallest building in the European Union, and the second-tallest in Europe, after Moscow's Mercury City Tower. It opened to the public on 1 February 2013 (Canon EOS 60D).

South African Airways
Boeing 747SP-44
Johannesburg - Rand (Germiston) (QRA / FAGM)
South Africa, September 21, 2012
Remark
Photographer
ZS-SPC (cn 21134/288) One of the 3 most important airplane in the world for me. This is my dream-shot... my favorite airplane, my favorite airline, my favorite active color in my favorite country. I only miss the magnificent South African desert night sky with thousands of stars. At this light polluted area, only some bright stars are visible on the northern sky... upside down.

Gol Transportes Aereos

Brazil, January 23, 2012
Remark
Photographer
PR-GGK (cn 35065/2561) Here we see Gol's PR-GGK taking off from SDU's main runway, which is just a little over 1300m long. The airport is located in the city center, surrounded by mountains and with no ILS. One of the most difficult landings in the world.

Copa Airlines
Boeing 737-7V3
Philipsburg / St. Maarten - Princess Juliana (SXM / TNCM)
St. Maarten, December 13, 2011
Remark
Photographer
HP-1376CMP (cn 30497/574) [Canon 1D Mark III + Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L] Copa was responsible for 2 very memorable moments during my trip to St. Maarten. This 737-700 hovered at around 50 feet to the end of the runway before blasting upwards over Maho Beach. In this photo, you can see the landing gear is almost completely stowed very low to the ground, and the runway piano keys are reflecting off the belly of the aircraft.

Titusville - NASA Shuttle Landing Facility (TTS)
USA - Florida, July 21, 2011
Remark
Photographer
OV-104 (cn OV-104) At 5:57 am EDT, after 13 days and 200 orbits around earth, Space Shuttle Atlantis completes mission STS-135 thus ending America’s 30-year Space Shuttle program. Since STS-1 in 1981, 355 individuals from 16 countries flew 852 times aboard five Space Shuttles. Together, they traveled more than 542 million miles. I feel privileged to have taken part in her last two missions. Farewell Space Shuttle… [1/160 sec, f/2.8, ISO 3200]
