S9-DBC (cn 0G3410) Goma was getting used to the appearance of this old lady, nicknamed 'kit' ('whale') by Russians. Here the machine returns from its second sortie of the day. The plane has been withdrawn from use and was awaiting its fate at the end of an unpaved platform at Goma for while. Early January 2011 the plane has been moved to a spot away from the active ramps, and together with a DC-8, An-12 and B727 waiting for things to happen. Late 2012 the Antonov was seen with engines, doors and hatches removed. |

3C-KKZ (cn 1Z3460) One of the most satisfying shots I have taken. It was about 0730 in the morning and the most horrendous storm was blowing into Changi from the West. The East was still clear and sunny. As the Air Mark began to taxi, it started to rain. I was left in the open as it began to pour and I would not retreat. I got my shot, but my camera and I got soaked! When I got the film back, I noticed the two SQ A310s in the background framed the shot nicely, and all of the planes were fully lit, despite the heavy rain. |
