One is a 747-100 model, while the other is designated a 747-100SR (short range). The two aircraft are identical in appearance and in their performance as Shuttle Carrier Aircraft. The second SCA is designated NASA 911. It was obtained by NASA from Japan Airlines (JAL) in 1989. It was also modified by Boeing Corporation. It was delivered to NASA on Nov. 20, 1990. |

No.3 engine was EGT limited and could not handle a power increase. Therefore, the captain had to abort the take off. Fuse plugs blew in only 7 tires not 8 as has been reported (see pic). COPA maintenance assisted with the tire changes using inadequate 737 jacks. No.2 engine was changed and N103CK was flown back to Miami. |

The wings are normally like this in flight only. This Bae-146 reportedly aquaplaned and overran the runway at Catarman, Philippines. The aircraft came to rest in a muddy rice field. It's registration at the time was RP-C2995. Incident occured 14 Nov 2005. No fatalities or serious injuries. |
