NAC had five Vickers Viscount 807s from 1958 to 1975 on the domestic routes in New Zealand and they each bore the name of a major city- the aircraft shown was by chance "City of Christchurch"! |

ZK-BRF (cn 283) NAC Vickers Viscount 807 "City of Christchurch" at Whenuapai, Auckland on a beautiful summers day in 1963. Whenuapai, presently an RNZAF airfield and home to 5 sqdn Lockheed P-3B Orions and 40 sqdn C-130H transports, was once Auckland's International airport until the new Auckland International at Mangere opened in late in 1965. NAC operated domestic services in New Zealand from 1947 until 1978, when it was merged with Air New Zealand. |
