N836D (cn 45345/928) What a fantastic view from the restored Eastern Airlines DC-7B. The crew at Opa Locka have done a magnificent job restoring this aircraft to flying status. The day may have been gray and drizzling, but the ride was fantastic. After departing Teterboro we headed down the Hudson River paralleling the New York City skyline. This shot shows those powerful prop engines directly above the Intrepid Sea and Air Museum. Look close and you can see another fantastic aircraft, the BA Concorde. |

G-BHBP (cn 193N-1211) This is a typical early 1980s scene at Gatwick, from the long-closed superb viewing deck. Tristars from British Airtours and TWA, DC 10s from Laker and British Caledonian and Boeing 747s from Cathay Pacific and Braniff are at the terminal. Dan Air BAC 1-11 and Boeing 727 can be seen as can a Scimitar Airlines Boeing 707 |

Exactly 555 days after the airport Berlin-Tempelhof was closed the former "Zentralflughafen" was opened to the public as "Tempelhof Park". You can walk, ride by bike or skate on both runways and all taxiways. Some spaces are reserved for birds and also three dog runs are surrounded by fences. So far you could use two areas for barbecue.
