Exactly 555 days after the airport Berlin-Tempelhof was closed the former "Zentralflughafen" was opened to the public as "Tempelhof Park". You can walk, ride by bike or skate on both runways and all taxiways. Some spaces are reserved for birds and also three dog runs are surrounded by fences. So far you could use two areas for barbecue. The runway centerline lighting system was removed to prevent the roller skaters from tumbling |

N52950 (cn 17274642) What a sight! Look at the magnificent Glacier! It looks as if the Ocean has instantly been frozen. For me, the imagination allows me to think that the high wing of Cessna 172 looks like a mast of sailboat. In a reality, our 172 is now flying over the Knik Glacier when the sun is about to set. Our friend former JSDF F-15 Commander Yuguchi brought my family to this sightseeing flight. He is now flying as a bush pilot with his Husky based Merrill Field. I am looking forward to fly with him this summer. |

N343NW (cn 387) N343NW sporting the new A320 vertical stab engine mod. ;-) Thanks for the compliments. Many have spied the FedEx MD-11 behind the Delta A320 in this shot. While working N599FE (I have a cockpit shot of that jet on A.Net as well) I saw this shot materialize as I decended the crew stairs of 599. As the two jets became one the little light bulb illuminated above my head and I captured the shot. |

No. 9 Attack Squadron flight over the ancient garden city/palace built by King Kasyapa in 477 - 495 AD. Palace also served as a fortress for the King from invading armies for 20 years of rule. 1500 years later, modern defenders of Sri Lanka fly by! This very ancient edifice is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also a very popular tourist attraction. Could also turn into a good spotting location as SLAF Air Base Sigirya is about 5 miles away. Thanks/credit to SLAF for photo ops. |

N19904 (cn 1997) Formerly owned/used by Howard Hughes (bought 1939 TWA). One of 10 307s built. First high-altitude commercial and first four-engine airliner in scheduled domestic service. Total of 500 flight hours over 25 years until hurricane damage in 1964. In 1974, wings/tail off, and fuselage converted motor yacht. The “plane-boat” features twin V-8 inboards incorporating the original aircraft cockpit controls that were used to fly the plane, propelling the vessel over 20 mph. Shame or glory? I am not sure. Only in Miami! |
