For me, the imagination allows me to think that the high wing of Cessna 172 looks like a mast of sailboat. In a reality, our 172 is now flying over the Knik Glacier when the sun is about to set. Our friend former JSDF F-15 Commander Yuguchi brought my family to this sightseeing flight. He is now flying as a bush pilot with his Husky based Merrill Field. I am looking forward to fly with him this summer. |

I have seen many sloped runways but a CURVED one is new to me. And next to a busy highway too!! Only about 60 movements a year though from this private airfield that dates back to 1917. Back then it was used by the Army and marine aviation. In between the airfield has been closed and hangars housing the local fire brigade. |

This was a spectacular storm and I only went out to shoot pictures after about 30 minutes of nearly continuous lightening. Really a treat to watch, but not very conducive to a smooth operation. If anyone wonders why the ramp closes when lightening is in the area this should be explanation enough. This strike was just outside the perimeter fence but this storm produced hundreds of strikes within the fence, according to the detector equip. |

A view of the Century Blvd entrance to LAX. The old ATC tower can be seen as well as the large American service hangar in the background. Both arrivals and departures are accesible here as the signage indicate. The entrances to the departure concourses for AA, DL, and UA are visible as well. Bravo to the City of Los Angeles for the pride taken in the appearance of this airport. |

LN-RPM (cn 30195/696) "Frigg Viking" climbs past the partly cloud-covered mountain chain North of Innsbruck Airport, operating SAS Norge flight SK7481 to Oslo Gardermoen International Airport. Due to extremely warm temperatures caused by Foehn winds there is not a lot of snow on the peaks in the foreground, but the 'Bettelwurf' in the back helps completing the scene with a good amount left. |
