B-6050 (cn 468) I made a wish before the flight that day, hoping to see a A346 under our Cessna, and my luck didn't let me down. She took off late at 250pm, held under us about 1200 feet before enter the ocean. We were flying the LAX corridor at 3500 feet. Chances are so small to hit one of the heavy takeoff right under. Sorry about the quality, as it is incrediblely hard to shoot because of the movements and strong winds. The first United Airlines to be painted into the post CO/UA merger livery is a domestic 2-class B763, which is pretty much dedicated on the Hawaii routes (although it looks like it will change with the crossfleeting). It's nice to finally see these battleship gray Hawaii birds get some attention with regards to paint as none of them made it into the Shades of Blue livery. N673UA pushes back for SFO as UA72 on a hazy morning. |

9V-SPQ (cn 28025/1289) With tremendous force and a pair of flexing wings, this heavy Singapore Airlines B744 powers out from runway 25R bound for NRT and SIN as SQ11. During the course of the Thanksgiving weekend, I finally caught the Singapore Airlines jumbos at LAX, as on my previous trips they parked at TBIT-north. The SQ jumbos are now history at LAX as the B77Ws took over this route in April 2011 instead of the intended A380, due the March 11 disasters in Japan. The SQ A380, however, is still scheduled to make its long awaited debut into LAX on July 1, 2011. |
