N401WJ (cn 599) After a brief downpour, a nice puddle formed on the tarmac, leaving this nice photo opportunity. This sharp Gulfstream V, bathed nicely by the airport lights, rests quietly as heavy clouds drift above in the night skies, with the almost mirror-like reflection adding a final touch to the photo. Even though this shot left me soaked with aircraft oil, the result leaves me with no regrets! |

9N-AHA (cn 8123) Approaching Lukla Tenzing-Hillary Airport at 9,200 feet in the mountain just before sunrise at 6:55am. This is the World's most dangerous airport with a single 460m runway. Due to high mountain terrain in the surrounding, there is no second chance for go around. The runway is visual deep down the valley. Pilot need to perform 100% precision visual landing and avoid overrun the short runway. We are among the first batch of arrival that day. [Nikon D300, Nikkor 10.5mm Fisheye] |
