Nightlife at RWY 31R in TWAN style. This is the best known spotting place in BUD, we called "patak" (watercourse or creek). The main lights are landing lights of airplanes. There are other airplane lights in the picture near the horizon. In the ground there are reflectors of cars. In the middle of circles the shortest strip is Polaris. The blue stars near the mid-horizon are stars of Big Dipper which is the best known formation in the northern sky, but this not constellation, it's only part of Ursa Maior. |

CS-TKN (cn 624) This month of November had been really good for us spotters, with so many different things coming by!! Not being a different A/C, this one deserved some attention... These pilots were caught in some wind shear, and it was really close to total disaster, since the wing almost touched the ground! You can also see the stress in main landing gear... The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side. |
