A6-EDD (cn 020) The "white Whale" operating as EK241 approaches over the famous Wendy's viewing location; but this time dark clouds accompany her arrival..... Wow and I thought the QF 380 at LAX was low! Dedicated to Nigel Harris for showing around during my visit to Toronto. |

N272AY (cn 333) US domestic carrier Allegheny Airlines evolved to become US Airways as a result of numerous acquisitions (Lake Central, Mohawk, Piedmont, PSA…) that eventually comprised the biggest airline merger in history. Subsequent take-over by America West in 2005 (they retained the US Airways name) was followed by massive Airbus A320 & A330 orders and the company now has the largest Airbus fleet in the world. One of its 330s is seen here trailing spray as it lifts off from Manchester on a day of heavy rain. |

N787EX (cn 40691/2) Dreamliner 002 doing crosswind testing at Keflavik this morning. The light was atrocious, but the winds were 25 gusting 30 knots, which is not as much as for the A380, when they were almost constantly blowing 45 knots. This shows the plane crabbing into runway 20 with the wind from the east. One can see the runway marker line like the aircraft is landing across it. |

9V-SKK (cn 051) Had damn luck with the weather as we only had actually three evenings available in London for a possible LHR ride during typical so-so weather conditions. London was the first touch of our backpacking journey through the UK and was already a good deal (and I mainly did seightseeing - really ;)). The second A380 in the evening sequence makes its way down to 27L right overhead - yes - Hatton Cross. |
