60-0024 (cn 464389) Bradley Space & Aviation Day 2010. This was one of four B-52s converted to the 'Giant Fish' atmospheric sampling program (the other three being 033, 051, and 052). The second officer was flying the airplane while the first officer requests a slightly right turn by ATC to avoid some conflicting weather in front of us. We were cleared for the visual approach for runway 11 and during the approach we had a view on the truly Caribbean trademark: the blue sea and its cool white beaches. The day may have been gray and drizzling, but the ride was fantastic. After departing Teterboro we headed down the Hudson River paralleling the New York City skyline. This shot shows those powerful prop engines directly above the Intrepid Sea and Air Museum. Look close and you can see another fantastic aircraft, the BA Concorde. |

By the orientation of the runways here in Mexico City, photography during the winter months becomes a bit harder, but there are indeed some great possible angles if you press down the shutter button at the right time. In this frame Lufthansa flight 498 from Frankfurt is arriving just 8 or 9 minutes before the sun hides in the horizon. |

92-9000 (cn 23825/685) As Air Force 1 crosses Sepulveda Blvd. bringing President Obama into LA for a fund raiser dinner, we can see just how beautiful of a craft the presidential 747 really is. Arrival time was 15:31, some 29 minutes ahead of schedule. For ease of operation she arrived on 24L and taxied to a remote location. 5 Marine Corps helos then ferried the president near downtown where the event was to be held. The president spent the night in LA and departed the next morning. Thanks Jorge Chavez for all the help in getting this shot! |

N2**UP It is always delighted to see some snow on the undercarriage is blown off by the air stream. This UPS MD-11F is now leaving Anchorage from runway 32 with some interesting selection of cargo airplanes behinds. As this photograph was taken the moment after the sun broke through the peak of mountains, the orange hue gives us a warm atmosphere. In a reality, it is -9F (-22.8C) which makes me pretty cold; but, as you might know, I like crispy winter day so that I really enjoy what I am doing here!! |

OV-103 (cn OV-103) " Discovery" has been brought into the VAB for perhaps her last "lift". Here the two cranes (325 ton for the front and a 175 ton for the back) have lifted her off her trailer and rotated her 90 degrees. The engineers in the two cherry pickers on the left and right are removing the 175 ton rear attachments. After this she will be left in this position for hours while the motion harmonics all dampen out. At this point minute detailed photos of her entire body are taken to match those after launch for safety |

G-EUP* The figures you get in statistics when you look at air traffic movements make LHR jump doubtlessly to Europe's busiest airport. Considering that this is achieved with bascially just two runways, these figures almost seem to be incredible. But as soon as you are on the spot and you witness the famous ILS line-ups you get to know where these supernatural numbers of traffic movements come from. Here a 27R departure matches with a 27L arrival right in frame. |

N787EX (cn 40691/2) Dreamliner 002 doing crosswind testing at Keflavik this morning. The light was atrocious, but the winds were 25 gusting 30 knots, which is not as much as for the A380, when they were almost constantly blowing 45 knots. This shows the plane crabbing into runway 20 with the wind from the east. One can see the runway marker line like the aircraft is landing across it. |

N649AS (cn 30663/1386) Wow! Northern lights and the Great Dipper!! This could be one of the ultimate window views that I could expect. Mother Nature surely does know how to pose for photographs. However, this is changing forever and could disappear suddenly as we are now traveling more than 700 km/h with 10 km off the ground. Definitely, this is a damn difficult image to capture where my passion for photography comes from. The red cast on the wing comes from the anti-collision light as I managed to synchronize my photo with it. |
