PH-BFG / FG-003 (cn 24517/782) The "City of Guayaquil" is seen a hundred feet above the world famous Maho Beach and the sparkling clear waters of Sunset Bay chasing its shadow to the runway. This place takes photography to a whole new level when you can literally go for a swim or sip on a bottle of Carib while waiting for an aircraft. It's quite obvious that I was not the only one with a camera around here, but this young woman certainly appreciated being part of the photograph more than I would have. |

N859NN (cn 29555/3456) [Canon 7D + Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM] The dawn of a new day reveals the dawn of modern aviation. In the thin spit of land just under the outboard flap track fairing lies Kill Devil Hills, NC, where Orville and Wilbur Wright made the world's first controlled, powered airplane flight in 1903. Looking down at the site of the Wright Brother's flight from 38,000 feet gives an interesting sense of how much aviation has progressed in the past 100 years. |

ZK-NBT (cn 24855/815) Very rare shot of another Air New Zealand in "Lord of the Rings" livery flying in formation as it were, below us. This aircraft was going to Tokyo while we were heading to Osaka.Nice sun reflection on the water giving it some rainbow colors. |

We had to follow the An-12 that is still on the runway, through the Kabul valley. Not too hard since she left a huge smoke trail for us to follow. Ahead of the runway are the suburbs of Kabul, the huge hills and beyond those you can clearly see the icy peaks of the HinduKush mountains (19.000ft ASL). Imagine the performance calculations needed for a heavy departure! What a view. |

**-**** Taken by my Great Uncle during World War Two. This was taken from a gunners position on top of the aircraft. This photo was taken after a flack attack from German ground troops. I have come to find out that there are not many photos left of this squadron and that not many were taken. Sadly my Great Uncle has passed away and his wife and his brother gave me permission to share this photo with A. net. |
