Crazy landing as you can see spoilers and the tire track clearly. Full frame and taken from Beacon Hill with 800 mm lens. |

N588NW / 5808 (cn 32988/1024) I have observed many crosswind arrivals in LAS, some a bit hairy but none quite like this one. Flight 1850 flailing wildly on approach from MSP had to abandon the effort after several steep side to side swings and and a strong upward surge. The second approach was not much better but at least successful. It is not too often I become concerned for my own personal safety while spotting! Funny just after this the DE heavy turned out the approach and was seen circling east over the valley to take the 19's instead. |

N692DL (cn 29724/820) It really does appear that 757's have a rougher time in these 40+ mph crosswinds. This was one of the last landings before the increasing wind as well as heavy blowing dust and debris resulted in almost exclusive usage of the 19's by every carrier with the exception of a number of WN 73G's that continued brave the formidable 25's. The departure line was nearly 40 planes deep and they were being released slowly. |

PP-SPL (cn 48745/596) I have looked on the Terminal B at Zürich how this plane rotate from Rwy 16! During the take-off, I heard 3 or 4 very loud bangs and then I saw the fire which came out of Engine 2. I took my camera and made a shot. What luck to see the flame because she was only visible for a few seconds! Please check out the original picture by clicking here. |
