an autumn morning seen during Approach for 08L in MUC. The rising sun cleared the fog a bit, the airport just switched from CAT II to regular CAT I operations, still there are a lot of fog patches. You can see aircraft departing from both RWYs and the silhouette of MUCs ATC tower. |

9M-MRI (cn 28416/155) About 10 seconds after liftoff from runway 19R something happens with the left engine. Alot of smoke and fragments of metal and other material falls down on the runway. At first the pilots don't get any indications in the cockpit and plan to go on to Kuala Lumpur. Then we decide to call Arlanda duty officer to make sure that they have noticed the pieces from the engine on the runway. Shortly after that the pilots requests fueldump and return to ARN safely. F-HPJE (cn 052) [Canon 7D + Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM] Getting this photo opportunity was a race against time, as AF39 Super was running slightly late, and the light was fading quickly. Several planes were cleared to takeoff in front of the A380, and the field darkened from the low angle of the sun. F-HPJE was finally cleared to takeoff as the sun hit the horizon, and caught a nice glow as it banked towards the West/Northwest. |

90-26230 (cn 70-1597) During the 920th Rescue Wing role demonstration at the 2011 edition of the Cocoa Beach airshow, this 308th Rescue Squadron HH-60 makes an attempt to show the public the various ways of extracting PJs from the water. Due to the high swells, rip currents and heave downdraft from the rotors, a wave breaks early, resulting in a wall of water engulfing the helicopter. The PJ never made it into the helicopter as the 'rescue’ was called off. |

9Q-CVS (cn 22931/1825) All 727s of Services Air are ex-FedEx. They have replaced the Antonov 12s that the company used before. The colour scheme of Victor Charlie is somewhat less elaborate than the scheme on the company's other two 727s. The takeoff of a Services Air 727 from Goma is always a special event, since they use up the whole runway and the commercial centre of town is located right next to the threshold of the RWY. |

The paradise where a thousand years holidays here is never too long for aircraft spotter! On board of KL785 departing from SXM to AMS via CUR. A sharp turn after taking off from runway 10, now the entire Simpson Bay is visible from starboard. Three jetways are vacant to wait afternoon American arrivals and a bit cloud is casting a shadow on 28 end of runway. Two yacht are approaching to Simpson bridge and the Simpson Lagoon is in a peace afternoon. Right above the Maho Beach is Mullet Bay Pond beyond which is French territory. |

JA8985 (cn 27652/72) Approaching to perform another set of touch and go during the training flight. We had just passed through the rainy season, which gave us an incredible view of the coral reflection. Those clouds were also affected by the coral reflection. Isn't that amazing? Today, the more flight simulator has been introduced, the more difficult to find a training flight under that perfect scenery. I will be appreciated if you use this photo for your desktop. |

9N-AJH (cn 8198) Welcome to Lukla, Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Nepal situated at 9,100 feet above sea level. This is also the World's Most Dangerous Airport. Accident happened frequently with a downhill sloping runway (12% gradient) make things very interesting. Aircraft use runway 06 only for landings and runway 24 for takeoffs. Due to the terrain, there is no prospect of a successful go-around on short final. One word: Spectacular! [Nikon D300] |
