XM655 The occasion was the 2005 'Wellesbourne Wings & Wheels' which included a low power then a later full power taxi featuring the magnificent Vulcan B.2 XM655. Sadly she can never fly again however she raised the nose wheel for a few moments during the full power run. |

N536JB (cn 1784) Del 05/24/2002 "Canyon Blue", tail livery "Squares" ex Airbus F-WWDS performs a low pass for the LGB tower for a nose gear inspection, and as you can see the nose gear is in a 90-degree position. Following the flyby, the aircraft spent the next 2 hours flying over the Pacific Ocean just off Long Beach burning fuel before diverting to LAX for an emergency landing, which happily was a succesful one without injuries. |

I saw the 2 SQ B747s being held to allow the CX A330 to pass, and decided to try a photo. I didn't realise that the two sets of pilots would be having a staring match. |

However just as she came on short final, the sun came out setting her in beautiful evening light . . . WOW! Canon 10D, 100-400L @ 400mm [+50% digital crop], handheld 1/100, f/8.0; IS is a great thing on big glass! |

This aircraft was destroyed on the 18th August 2000 during 'Airbourne 2000' an airshow on the sea front at Eastbourne, Sussex U.K. sadly killing the pilot. |
