EC-HGR (cn 1154) Picture taken from the cockpit while avoiding some huge storms near Madrid. The amount of energy stored by those clouds is so huge that is it of the same scale as several small atomic bombs. |

HS-TAB (cn 371) On my way from BKK to SIN on TG421. While cruising off the coast of southern Thailand and northern Malaysia, we passed quite a few of these lighting storms, while I was enjoying my supper of Thai chicken curry. I was pretty lucky to finally catch one of the many lighting flashes inside these dark ominous clouds, as the last light of the day illuminates the western skies. Also somehow lucky to get the wing strobe to flash at the same time, talk about luck! |

OV-103 (cn OV-103) "I can't think of a better place to be here on the Fourth of July and Independence Day, to be getting ready to launch into space. To all the folks at Kennedy Space Center and the Shuttle program, thanks a lot for working so hard in the last dew days and the last year to get us ready. To all the folks on the Florida east coast, we hope to very soon get you up-close-and-personal look at the rocket's red glare" said by CDR Steven Lindsey over the radio. Here you go commander! This is your rocket's red glare! |

VH-EBQ (cn 1198) For me it's difficult to sleep during a flight.. So, instead I was stargazing and noticed the milky way band out of my window as we were passing Australia en route Auckland. Notice how the slats reflect off some stars. It's absolutely beautiful and I'm glad i didn't sleep! By the way this A332 frame is brand spanking new (manufactured in Feb. 2011)[Nikon D3s; Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8; ISO 12,800; 5-second exposure] |
