25203 / RL-203 (cn 203) After an eight year planning and reconstruction, the full size Avro Arrow RL-203 was officially unveiled to the public. The Avro Arrow, a sleek white jet interceptor developed in Toronto, Ontario in the 1950s, could have been many things. It might have become the fastest plane in the world, was Canada's best defence against Soviet bombers, the catalyst to propel Canada to the forefront of the aviation industry. The Arrow and its accompanying Orenda Iroquois jet engine program, was abruptly cancelled. |
