N1944A / 315211/J8-B (cn 19677) Taken whe the C=47 stopped over at Reykjavik during the ferry flight to the USA after Kermit Weeks bought it for the Fantasy of Flight Museum in Florida. It had to wait two days for good weather on the flight to Greenland. On thismorning there was a heavy rainshower that almost soaked the apron, and made this image possible. |

N1944A / 315211/J8-B (cn 19677) Wings Venture’s historic C-47, which saw extensive service in support of the Normandy Invasion and the Arnhem drops, resident at Kemble in recent years, has been sold to an owner in the United States and won’t appear at British air shows again. It was a star attraction at numerous Kemble displays and is seen here flying its customarily spirited routine at the 2010 Cotswold Airport Battle of Britain Air Show. |
