PH-BFG / FG-003 (cn 24517/782) The "City of Guayaquil" is seen a hundred feet above the world famous Maho Beach and the sparkling clear waters of Sunset Bay chasing its shadow to the runway. This place takes photography to a whole new level when you can literally go for a swim or sip on a bottle of Carib while waiting for an aircraft. It's quite obvious that I was not the only one with a camera around here, but this young woman certainly appreciated being part of the photograph more than I would have. |

The Skyvan is as a photoship still fairly 'slow', but the German Rhino's intercepted us over the sea as a slow moving target, a truly unforgetable moment in all our photoflight adventures. This picture also shows very clearly that it is possible to take a lot more creative shots then a typical 'head-on' photo, when sitting on an open ramp. |

EI-DIP (cn 339) Engine failed upon departure climb. I won’t forget watching its low & slow circle to return to BOS with smoke out of its #1 Engine. Dedicated to my friend Bob Grande who passed away earlier this year, months before retirement. As a veteran at BOS, Bob was an integral part of the emergency response, actually reopening 15R so Air One could make its emergency landing on it. Bob also coordinated the transfer by bus of all the pax, since the AC was disabled on 15R & 9, to Terminal E. Bob, thanks buddy! |

OV-104 (cn OV-104) First sunrise on Earth for Atlantis not long after landing at 05:57:54 EDT. The support vehicles are all hooked up and running the onboard systems. The astros have been taken off and the support staff take the opportunity to mill around the orbiter for one last time on the runway. There were a lot more people on the runway as per past landings to welcome her and celebrate the final landing of the STS program. |
