We were told to line up for 28L and allow a 757 (landing on 28R) to lead the way to the threshold, during the simultaneous approach. While on a 1-mile final we couldn't slow down enough, and overtook the 757 just seconds before touchdown. The runways are less than 1,000 ft apart at SFO, and this photo illustrates just how close we got. Imagine the wake turbulence behind this "parade". |

This view is moments prior to entering a violent storm cell which shook our 777 around like a tin can, opening overhead bins and periodically initiating the emergency oxygen masks to drop down. On our flight from LAX to PEK, a passenger was sick and experienced a shock. In case of life threat of the passenger, the captain decided to divert to ANC. However, this is changing forever and could disappear suddenly as we are now traveling more than 700 km/h with 10 km off the ground. Definitely, this is a damn difficult image to capture where my passion for photography comes from. The red cast on the wing comes from the anti-collision light as I managed to synchronize my photo with it. |
