B-HOR (cn 24631/771) Double treat: I have seen many F16s, F15s do side by side landing but this was unusual. MX A320 descended on glideslope from 3500 AGL for Rwy 24R while CX 744 did same from 2200 AGL for Left side. Cathay 744 was told to hold 170 kts steady so MX can land just a bit ahead. And the result was perfect approach with spectacular results. |

165679 / NJ-101 (cn 1516/F018) Wow! A Super Hornet of VFA-122 'Flying Eagles' out of NAS Leemoore, since this day I call them the low Flying Eagles! This Hornet was very low and fast in the canyon and shortly afterwards put on the afterburner and climbed into the blue California sky. The camouflage fits well in this surrounding. Believe me, it was the experience of my trip to the States! Some people go to Wales for this stuff, I prefer the more sunny and warm conditions in California. |

9M-MRI (cn 28416/155) About 10 seconds after liftoff from runway 19R something happens with the left engine. Alot of smoke and fragments of metal and other material falls down on the runway. At first the pilots don't get any indications in the cockpit and plan to go on to Kuala Lumpur. Then we decide to call Arlanda duty officer to make sure that they have noticed the pieces from the engine on the runway. Shortly after that the pilots requests fueldump and return to ARN safely. A6-EDF (cn 007) What a beautiful evening it was! As the giant whale comes into light at a cloudy 'Row, shiny silver sections start glowing in the sun as it glides in on very final approach to runway 27L. Even from this tilted angle the GP7000 engines look still tremendously huge that carry the sleek heavy metal all around safely. It is said this type of engine produces less than 75g of carbon dioxyide emission per passenger and kilometer - almost half of the European target for cars manufactured in 2008. |
