However, it is indeed a US Navy aircraft once belonging to Light Attack Wing 1 at NAS Cecil Field, FL, but now reassigned to Strike Fighter Weapons School Atlantic. With jurisdiction over the Florida bombing ranges, this 'Tormentor' and a few others were charged with range clearance and bomb damage assessment, hence the flamboyant color scheme. |

147865 / CY-00 One of four EA-6A from VMCJ-2 that stopped over at Keflavik. This was the second service test aircraft for the E-6A and was then converted to the EA-6A configuration. To copy from another 147865 text: "It was used as the testbed for the program and it was one of the longest flying airframes in the program. She was one of the first Intruders deployed to Vietnam for combat missions with VMCJ-2."Methuselah" today is honored at MCAS Cherry Point where she flew most of her hours during her illustrious active duty." |
